Process: West Bengal Police Constable Selection Process Details are

I.
Selection Procedure for Excise Constable Posts: Selection
of the candidates will depend on Physical Efficiency Test, Written Test and
Interview.
Physical
Efficiency Test: Long distance run 1600 meters for Male candidates and 400
Meters for Female candidates.
Written
Test: Written Test will be conducted for 90 Marks in Multiple choices
format, each will carry one mark and one-fourth mark will be deducted for each
wrong answer. The West Bengal Police Recruitment Board will fix qualifying
marks for the written examination.
Interview: An interview will be organized for the candidates obtaining qualifying marks in
the written test. The interview will be conducted for 10 Marks. The interview board
shall be represented by an officer of the Excise Department, not below the rank
of Joint Secretary or Additional Excise Commissioner.
II.
Selection Procedure for Lady Constable Posts: Selection The process will consist of Physical Measurement Test, Physical Efficiency Test,
Written Test and Interview.
Physical
Measurement Test (PMT): The height and weight of the candidates
will be measured by Electronic Machines.
Physical
Efficiency Test (PET): Candidates who qualify in PMT will be
eligible for PET. Candidates will have to complete 400 meters race in maximum 2
minutes. Physical Efficiency Test will be qualifying in nature. Only one
chance will be given for the Physical Efficiency Test.
Written
Examination: The candidates who qualify in PMT and PET will be asked to
appear in a written examination. The written examination will have Multiple
objective type questions (MCQ) on General Awareness, General Knowledge and
Elementary Mathematics. There will be negative marking for the wrong answer.
Interview: A limited number of candidates who appear in the written examination will be
called for interview. The cut of marks in the written test for interview calls
in different categories will be fixed by West Bengal Police Recruitment Board.
In the interview, the general awareness of the candidate will be tested. The interview will be conducted by the West Bengal Police Recruitment Board through
Range Recruitment Boards.
Verification
of Antecedents: All provisionally selected candidates will be required to
fill up a ‘Verification Roll’ which will be thoroughly enquired into by the
concerned authority.
Medical
Examination: After receipt of Verification Roll having ‘NO OBJECTION’;
all provisionally selected candidates will be sent for medical examination at
the State Government designated Hospitals. The selected candidate should have good mental and physical health and free from any physical deformity likely to
interfere with efficient performance with her duties. The certificate of
medical fitness will be issued by authorized Medical Officer.
